The Sabatino Day Williamson Group of Companies proudly announces the screenwriting and directorial debut of Chairman Gregory Sabatino with FALSIFYIN’, a short documentary exploring Boogie Woogie music. His lifelong interest in the genre and the “falsifyin’” piano technique led Mr. Sabatino and his Gregory Sabatino Productions crew to Clarksdale, Mississippi in October 2005 to capture Boogie Woogie greats in interviews and performances.
There, through conversations with Jerry Lee Lewis, Boogie Woogie pioneer Pinetop Perkins, Marcia Ball, Henry Gray and newcomer Little Red Clay as well as one raucous concert at Clarksdale’s Ground Zero Blues Club, he discovered new dimensions to Boogie Woogie. It’s force in bringing people joyfully together. It’s bridge from the Blues to Rock ‘n Roll. It’s power to heal the deepest of cultural wounds.
Narrated by Ground Zero owner Morgan Freeman, FALSIFYIN’ makes a profound statement about Boogie Woogie music, great Boogie talents and the heart and soul of one Mississippi town and its people. But it is also contains the seeds for a larger treatment of Boogie Woogie and the magical mysteries of music and performing arts.
Mr. Sabatino is currently in talks with several investors to expand FALSIFYIN’ into a feature-length documentary. In the meantime, FALSIFYIN’ will take to the Festival circuit Fall 2007. A special, limited release DVD of FALSIFYIN’ will also soon be available through the Store.
